RSB and The DVA

The Royal Society for the Blind (RSB) is a not-for-profit organisation providing services to
Australians who have a severe vision impairment. These services are delivered by a professional,
committed and highly qualified team supported by volunteers, drawn from all age groups and
walks of life.

Blindness or vision impairment can have a severe impact on a person’s lifestyle. The RSB assists
people to overcome their vision impairment and participate independently in the community.
The quality and effectiveness of our services is assessed annually through independent client
surveys. As our results show, we have continued to provide a high level of client satisfaction over
a sustained period of time.

RSB is proud to be one of the approved Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) suppliers for the
Rehabilitation Appliances Program. RSB is also a provider for Optometry services, Allied Health
Services and Library Services for entitled veterans, war widows and widowers who are blind or
have low vision. RSB is an approved provider to deliver services and products to the National
Disability Insurance Scheme, My Aged Care and self-funding clients. As well as supporting
individuals, we work in partnership with health care professionals to support clients who are
blind or have low vision, to lead the lives they choose.
