Donation to RACS Timor Leste Eye Care Team Project

Guide dogs Queensland (GDQ) has generously provide the RACS Timor Leste Eye Care Team Project January 2010 with the following Orientation and Mobility/Low Vision remote area kit equipment:

As well as these requests we have also recently had a request from an agency in Nepal for some Braille writing equipment and Braille games.

Update from Tonga

Sila, a young man who is blind, helping two children at the special school OTA ('Ofa Tui 'Amanaki Centre) in Tonga. They are finding out what a Perkins Brailler can do.

 

Two Braillers, Brailling paper and other equipment were donated last year to OTA by the Royal Society for the Blind of South Australia. Sila began teaching three OTA students over the last few months and there are plans for the class to continue this year.
