NEWS RELEASE 9 June 2010 Adelaide ‘Carries On’ for a Cause Sex and the City fans get set to ‘Carrie On’ at a night of fashion, champagne and gossip, while helping build a brighter future for South Australians who are blind or vision impaired. The Royal Society for the Blind (RSB) Sex and the City 2 Movie Night will not only see the return of our favourite New York ladies to the big screen, but also some of Adelaide’s hottest winter fashions at a pre-movie fashion parade. Tanya Powell models will strut their stuff on the cinema catwalk from 7pm, wearing outfits by Australian owned and operated retail fashion brand, LAX. The parade will showcase the newest winter trends encompassing fun, travel, fashion, lifestyle and excitement. “The Tanya Powell Model Agency is happy to help anyone who is blind or vision impaired to improve their quality of life,” said Agency Director, Tanya Powell. “I can’t imagine not being able to see; my career, my whole life is about seeing and if anyone can do anything to assist they should.” “I will be there tomorrow night to coordinate the fashion parade – LAX have some fantastic pieces so it should be great,” said Tanya. The sold-out charity event will also shower quests with fragrance samples of Sarah Jessica Parker’s latest perfume – SJP NYC, cup cakes from Le Pink Petite, gift vouchers from luxury lingerie label Simone Perele, and of course, complimentary champagne! Network Ten’s Kate Freebairn will host the event on Thursday, 10 June from 6pm at Wallis Cinemas Mitcham, with all proceeds going to the RSB’s Guide Dog Service. The RSB is the primary provider of services to more than 11,000 South Australians who are blind or vision impaired.
