You are here
The RSB Guide and Assistance Dogs need you!
RSB Puppy Sponsors help the RSB Puppies grow up to become trained RSB Guide or Assistance Dogs.
It costs more than $30,000 to breed, raise and train each dog, which is why these guys need your help.
You can help provide them with such essentials as vet care, puppy food, training, heartworm/flea preventative treatments, collars, leads, coats and harness.
How does it work?
For $30 a month, you can sponsor these pups to help them become trained RSB Guide and Assistance Dogs. There is no government support for training RSB Guide and Assistance Dogs, so your support is vital.
How does a puppy become an RSB Guide or Assistance Dog?
Each RSB puppy goes through a training pathway. If they pass all the stages of training, they become a qualified RSB Guide or Assistance Dog.
What does an RSB Guide Dog learn?
- How to move safely and confidently through the environment
- How to avoid overhead obstacles such as low branches
- How to safely negotiate road crossings
- How to obey a wide range of commands
- How to be well behaved
RSB Guide Dogs are vital in helping a person who is blind or vision impaired travel safely and independently.
