Community Involvement Project

The Community Involvement Project encourages YBL Participants to:

  • challenge themselves
  • identify personal strengths
  • learn new skills including project and event management, budgeting and finance
  • think laterally and creatively
  • represent their organisation and the RSB to the wider community
  • further expand their networks and friendship circles.
  •

Like the Business Improvement Project, the Community Involvement Project provides an opportunity for Participants to demonstrate leadership and apply the knowledge required to gain the Certificate IV in Business (Frontline Management).

Through the Community Involvement Project YBL Participants connect with, and contribute meaningfully, to the wider community.  The Community Involvement Project increases awareness of  their organisation, while raising funds to support the valuable work of The Royal Society for the Blind (RSB).

    Grant McGregor

‘Through my Community Involvement Project I developed an understanding of how to motivate and inspire people and the art of delegation.  It also gave me an opportunity to give back to the community.  This was a fantastic feeling!’

Grant McGregor, 2005/2006 YBL Finalist, Hilton Adelaide.
