Business Improvement Project

YBL Participants and their manager work together to identify a business improvement project.  This project may be related to improving existing systems, productivity, innovation, efficiency or customer service.

The Business Improvement Project enables YBL Participants to:

  • develop and demonstrate leadership skills
  • gain project management experience
  • have access to levels of management they might not otherwise have
  • prove they have what it takes to succeed within their organisation
  • contribute meaningfully to their organisation.
  •

The Business Improvement Project enables YBL Participants to apply new skills and knowledge acquired at developmental workshops. This project also enables Participants to demonstrate the eight competencies to achieve the Certificate IV in Business (Frontline Management).

    Belinda Rundle

For her Business Improvement Project, Belinda Rundle initiated a reporting procedure to measure Key Performance Indicators.  This improved operational performance throughout Bradken's manufacturing facility.

‘YBL was without a doubt the best thing that I have ever done. As a result of my participation in YBL, I have been nominated for Bradken’s Young Business Person of the Year Award.’

Belinda Rundle, 2005/2006 YBL Participant, Bradken Resources Ltd.
