Volunteer Services

 

Goal of Service

To provide a range of volunteer support services that assists people with a significant vision impairment.

 

Services Provided

Volunteer Services provide a range of services that directly assist clients or the RSB. These include:

  • Provision of direct assistance to clients:

Transport
Visiting
Correspondence
Shopping
Recreation and leisure
Community support groups

  • Provision of support to the RSB and its clients:

Guide Dog Service Puppy Educators, Bed and Breakfast Borders and Emergency Boarders
Fundraising
RSB Factory Canteen;
Audio Services, including Talking Newspapers
Transcription Services
Office and clerical

Location

The Volunteer Service is based in the City of Adelaide however the majority of opportunities are provided throughout South Australia.

 

Eligibility

Anyone can apply to volunteer. However you will be required to have a Police Check and undertake training relevant to the work to be undertaken.

 

Referrals

Requests for volunteer services are generally made by clients themselves or by family members, friends or another organisation (with the individual’s consent) and other RSB staff.
