Information and Referral
Goal of Service
The RSB provides information regarding the range of services available from both the RSB and other service providers, and provides referrals to other services as needed.
Services Provided
Information is provided with regard to the range of services available from the RSB, and other service providers. This includes a range of information on such areas as pensions, concessions, eye conditions, adaptive equipment, and support programs. All information is provided in the client’s format of choice (eg Braille, Large Print, audio or e’text).
Referrals can be provided to refer clients to either RSB services, or to other external service providers as needed.
Location
Information and Referral are part of the RSB’s outreach services that are available to clients throughout South Australia. Information and Referral can be provided as a part of a home visit, or it is often the case that information or referral can be requested and provided over the phone.
Eligibility
Information and Referral is available to all RSB clients. To be eligible to become an RSB client, a person must be diagnosed by an eye care professional as being legally blind, or likely to become legally blind.
