Become a Puppy Educator
The RSB Guide Dog Service is looking for volunteers to love, care for and educate an RSB Guide Dog puppy.
You are given an 8 week old puppy and receive specialist training from the RSB.
You will assist the pup with various stages of learning. Some examples of what a pup needs to learn include:
When the pup is 12 months old, it will go on to the next phase of intensive training, leading to its graduation as a fully trained RSB Guide Dog.
What it takes
Puppy Educators come from a variety of backgrounds including stay at home parents, the employed or the retired. Having children or pets is fine, as it will create an opportunity for the pup to encounter life in the real world.
Experience a year of fun, love and laughter and best of all, it’s free! There are no expenses for food, equipment, bedding or veterinary costs as these are all provided by the RSB.
All you will need is:
Saying goodbye is never easy
So why say it?
We understand the strength of the bond that is created between you and the RSB Guide Dog pup. We also understand that you will have developed valuable skills that you may wish to continue using in order to love, care for and educate another RSB Guide Dog in the making.
So don’t say goodbye... say hello!
