Goal of Service
To provide a range of volunteer support services that assists people with a significant vision impairment.
Services Provided
Volunteer Services provide a range of services that directly assist clients of the RSB. These include:
- Provision of direct assistance to clients:
- Transport
- Visiting
- Correspondence
- Shopping
- Recreation and Leisure
- Community Support Groups
- Provision of support to the RSB and its clients:
- RSB Guide Dog Service Puppy Educators, Bed and Breakfast Borders and Emergency Boarders
- Fundraising and Special Events
- RSB Factory Canteen
- Audio Services and Transcription Services
- Talking Newspapers
- Reception and Clerical
Location
RSB Volunteer Services are based in the City of Adelaide, however volunteer opportunities are available in most Adelaide Metropolitan areas and regional locations across South Australia.
Eligibility
Anyone over 18 years of age can apply to volunteer. However you will be required to undertake a Police Check and complete training relevant to your chosen role.
Referrals
Requests for volunteer services are generally made by clients themselves or by family members, friends or another organisation (with the individual’s consent) and other RSB staff.
