Library Service
Goal of Service
The RSB’s Library Service provides free access for people who are blind or vision impaired, to a wide range of accessible books and magazines.
Services Provided
The library service provides a choice of around 12,000 talking books, or books in Braille. Books cover a wide range of recreational, non-fiction and religious reading. Some magazines are also available in audio format.
A digital talking book service is also available called the Books in The Sky system, or ‘BiTS’. The BiTS system enables books, magazines and newspapers to be down loaded via broadband internet, or accessed from a number of Public Libraries.
Location
The RSB Talking Book Library service is a home based service, that is accessed via the postal service. The BiTS digital talking book system is available via broadband internet, or via selected Public Libraries. These services are available in both the Metropolitan and Regional areas of South Australia.
