Our Services

Community Support Groups

Goal of Service

Community Support Groups provide people who have experienced vision loss with an opportunity to meet and share thoughts and ideas with others who are blind or vision impaired.

Services Provided

The RSB facilitates a large number of Community Support Groups throughout South Australia. These groups encourage members to meet regularly, to assist with adjusting to vision loss and for social enjoyment. Guest speakers often present to the groups, recreational activities are organised, and information is shared about services and support available.

Some Community Support Groups have a specific focus, such as cooking, travel, dancing, indoor bowls, or Tai Chi. Most of the Community Support Groups are run by RSB Volunteers, and partners or family members are welcome to participate.

Location

Community Support Groups are located throughout South Australia. An up-to-date list of groups is available by contacting the RSB.

Eligibility

Anyone with a vision impairment, or an interest in vision impairment can participate in the Community Support Groups.
