Odd Socks Day 2009
Odd Socks Day 2009 on June the 5th was a great success as staff and volunteers rose early to turn the Gawler Place Canopy into a display of fun and colour. There were socks as far as the eye could see, streaming from one end of the Canopy to the other.
Mix 102.3’s Lynne Hayes kicked off the day with a live broadcast from Rundle Mall, inviting everyone to come down and get involved. Crowds gathered around the RSB Guide Dogs and their wonderful Puppy Educators and cupcakes and merchandise sold quickly. A special appearance by the latest Australian Idol winner Wes Carr surprised everyone and helped give a boost to the good work of the RSB. The day would not have been possible without the help of many schools, businesses and community groups who sold Odd Socks Day merchandise and spread the message of the RSB.
