New Low Vision Products

Following concerns over the high cost of low vision and daily living aids (eg. magnifiers, talking watches, clocks and calculators, etc.) the RSB has sourced a budget range of items from overseas.

With the standard price for a talking watch starting at $43, the new range of watches will sell for under $20.  Low powered magnifiers, which normally sell for around $50, are now available for less than $10.

“The RSB has always been passionate about assisting people who are blind or vision impaired to be independent and low vision and daily living aids are vital to achieving the goal. This RSB initiative means that these important aids will be much more affordable, and therefore accessible, to those who need them,” said Andrew Daly, RSB Executive Director.

The range will also include a very large and easy to see talking calculator and talking bathroom scales.  More stock is due to arrive in November.
